Hi, I’m Joyce, the founder of De Beauvoir Candle Company.
I started this business from my kitchen in East London during Covid Lockdown back in 2020, with a simple goal: to create beautiful, eco-friendly candles that bring warmth and calm into people’s homes.
Like many of us, I’ve always loved lighting a candle at the end of a long day. It’s a small ritual that helps me slow down, breathe, and feel grounded. But I wanted something more than just a nice scent. I wanted candles that were kind to the planet, made with care, and felt personal.
So I began hand-pouring soy candles in small batches, using vegan ingredients and recyclable packaging. Every candle is made by me, with love and intention.
De Beauvoir Candle Company is named after the area I live in a place full of creativity, community, and charm. It’s where this journey began, and where I hope it continues to grow.
